Sales / Account Executive

We have an exciting opportunity for a Sales/Account Executive in Vancouver to join our team! 

Triumph Expo & Events Canada, Inc., is a newly formed corporation serving Western Canada. Providing general contracting services for trade shows and special events, Triumph is a privately held corporation and a sister company of Triumph Expo & Events, Inc., (originally formed in Seattle in 1999). Triumph enjoys the distinction of being a certified woman owned and operated business and employs approximately 30 full time staff members and a regular labor force of well over 100.

We have been fortunate to experience phenomenal growth over the last 10 years, from producing 20 events in our first year to now producing an average of 50 events per month across North America. The Sales/Account Executive’s primary functions are to increase sales and represent Triumph as a creative and professional general service tradeshow contractor. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for the customer. The goals are to identify, understand, effectively communicate and negotiate potential client objectives as they relate to the use and implementation of Triumphs' products and services. The Sales/Account Executive will work as a solid sales team member to project a positive image and maintain client relationships in line with Triumph’s overall goals and objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the ability to work with multi-levels of management, facilities, industry partners and vendors; be detail and deadline oriented; Have excellent communication, networking, organizational and computer skills; and have a proven track record of successful telephone canvassing and strong closing skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Strong emphasis on cold calling to identify new revenue opportunities; responsible for pursuing sales leads via existing lead lists and other published information, including venue calendars, bureau leads and website research; Develop and maintain client relationships association planners, management companies, or other relevant groups such as corporate planners.
  • Prepare proposals based on client’s requested bid specifications (RFP's) and budget constraints; proposal presentation and contract negotiation.
  • Prepare initial job costing P&L and work with operations to manage all aspects of budget control to maximize profit margins on each event.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with facility sales & event managers, appropriate CVB’s, and other professional organizations as assigned; Attend both local and national membership meetings as required to promote corporate image and network with potential and existing clients.
  • Responsible for timely production processes (P&Ls, work tickets, service kits requests, etc.) of contracted and assigned events.
  • Maintain and communicate client requirements to Operations Department and show production foreman; Coordinate logistics for each event; confer with accounting to establish credit and finalize invoicing, confer with exhibitor services to facilitate venue information and additional vendor information for service kit preparation.
  • Confer with facility managers and vendor partners (such as electrical, telephone, audio/visual and floral contractors) to coordinate logistics for each event; supervises activities of foremen and on-site labor (as needed) in order to carry out production of all work requirements as provided by the client.
  • Floor plan consultation and final floor plan preparation with client; fire marshal approval on final floor plans; permit payments; Obtain final approval of all charges for event production from the client; responsible for event closing reports and final invoice, event profit and loss reporting and collections.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven sales track record - hard & soft sales
  • Strong negotiations and closing skills
  • Self starter - able to plan and implement your sales strategy
  • Success driven individual
  • Ability to work away from corporate office
  • Demonstrated ability to network and build rapport
  • Effective communication skills ranging from executive management to event staff
  • Solid presentation and excellent oral & written communication skills. Comfortable with communicating in person, by telephone and via e-mail
  • Ability to understand complex objectives, provide event consultation and produce desired results
  • Solid multi-tasking and time management skills
  • Hard work, honest, integrity and unwavering business ethics

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience desired; proven track record as high producing sales and / or account management; Convention, tradeshow or events experience and customer service experience preferred.

COMPUTER SKILLS
Must have experience with CRM software, Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel as well as a working knowledge of database software.
